Current Entry縮かむ [ちぢかむ] /(v5m,vi) be benumbed/TempSUB/
Headword 1縮かむ
Reading 1ちぢかむ
Part-of-speechv5m,vi
English 1to be numb
English 2TempSUB
Commenti think 'to be numb' is actually better than 'to shrink', etc. if that's what you were planning on using here

koj, daijr, daijs, and meikyo all have this as something along the lines of:
寒さなどのために、手足などがちぢんで、動きが不活発になる。
・指先が―・む

i can't think of any situation where i'd translate that as 'shrink'.

progressive waei has:
・寒くて手が縮かんでいる
My fingers are numb with cold.

Editorial Comment GG5 has two senses: shrink; shrivel and to go numb. Others favour the "numb" sense, so I'll put that first.
