Comment | I cannot quite work out why the above headword is so difficult to find in the various references which I have looked at. Moreover, it is not on your site and, yet, it appears often [see Google]. It also often appears including 'よう' at the end, i.e., 言い得よう. This presumably means that the reading is 'える' as opposed to the more usual 'うる' in such combinations.
Your site, along with other reference works, has the following:- 言い得て妙 【いいえてみょう】 (exp) perfectly fitting phrase. So, perhaps your site should also have the above headword on its own. If it is not included because it is an obvious combination, then the reading options alone would justify an entry so that a novice is not left to continually wonder about such things; especially when many other entries are included with '得る [in various forms]' as a suffix to common words. As you know, I favour the inclusive spirit for your site, but I accept that there is a strong force in your team for the exclusion of the obvious. |
