These are the submissions received via the WWW forms for this day. I (Jim Breen) will annotate the submission if I think it needs to be amended or rejected or if I have a question about it. Otherwise it can be assumed that it has been accepted. You can see how it will look in EDICT by looking at the "diffs" file for this day or the next in the diffs directory.

CommentThank you for your kindness in explaining about "平らな道".

I can see that the management of this great site is full of hurdles and opposing forces which constantly bewilder those who endeavour to achieve its objectives. Indeed, I am glad that I am only a user and not the controller.

I was doing a little more digging around and I came across the above RH entry, which seemed to be worthy of promotion.

Then I looked at the following entries:-

I can see that I do not grasp the full nature of the problems so I am reluctant to make observations, save on the basis that by my expressing a comment I am primarily clearing my own mind of the matter. In short, so that I can move on to something else without feeling that I have been neglectful by not making a comment which may be useful.

When I commented once before about "rouge elements" you said that you had given consideration to such matters in the past. Following your comments, I was wondering whether one could have another dumping area with a classification of something like "UO [for utterly obvious]" where the novice could search around, but which would not be a source dictionary for the other facilities like the "Translate Words" function.

I have found that your site has provided many answers which were not found elsewhere. Sometimes, just that little trigger which leads one to a satisfactory conclusion.

Again many thanks.

Editorial Comment Removed. 平ら (たいら) (adj-na,n) flatness; level .... is already an entry. I don't include the -な version. Please read http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/wwwnewwordexpl.html and http://www.edrdg.org/wiki/index.php/Editorial_policy where these editorial aspects are described.

Part-of-speechn
English 1operator
English 2manager

CommentPromote from RH.

I've seen this word mostly in software contexts. The 運用者 of a Wiki, project, website, etc.
manager/operator seems to cover the meaning well enough, with a slight preference for operator, based on usage in ALC sentences:

system provider
radar operator〔【略】RADOP ; RO〕
transmission grid operator
