CommentNow out of context with the above, but related to your note: "Re 端の月, I see it's very rare..."

Backtracking a little, the full quote was this:-

"世にへなばよしなき雲もおおひなん

いざ入りてまし山の端の月。"

From 武士道、 第14章

A translation [not mine] in a copy of the book gives:-

For fear lest clouds may dim her light,
Should she but graze this nether space,
The young moon poised above the height,
Doth hastily betake to flight.

I don't think I would have got to that result from the Japanese text. I have much work to do!

Editorial Comment The risks of drawing conclusions from translated poetry. Strings of のs are a problem. Is 山の端の月 (山の端)の月 or 山の(端の月). And of cause の has more applications than just the genitive case.

Editorial Comment I think the ぎやう is from a misreading of 大辞林.

This should be available through the dictionary.
Suggest that the headword is changed to 鬱陶しい and kana reading is うっとうしい.

Editorial Comment Curious. The headword already is 鬱陶しい. See http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/cgi-bin/wwwjdic.cgi?1MDJ%DD%B5%C6%AB%A4%B7%A4%A4
