Current Entryプラスアルファ /(n) a little more than usual (wasei: plus alpha)/bribe money added to a regular fee/ (1115640)
Headword 1プラスα
Reading 1プラスアルファ
Part-of-speechn
English 1a little more than usual (wasei: plus alpha)
English 2bribe money added to a regular fee
Reference+α:
[W], the relevant bit:
英語での表現は、+X(プラスエックス)であり、そのXをαと誤読したことから生まれた表現。

プラスα:
Anthy Japanese IME, suggested as 変換 option for プラスアルファ. Gets good Google hits as well.
CommentSeasons greetings!

「+α」
Is this possible as a headword or is there another way to include it? I have been seeing this written form of プラスアルファ used (way too) often in popular Japanese television fare in the form of subtitling for songs and such, and it bothered me for months before I finally found out how to actually read "+α".

It still bothers me as a monstrosity of a word, but at least I know what it means now.
