CommentO dear, vocabulary from the wonderful world of Japanese visual novels, dōjinshi, anime and manga. Quite popular though, so who are we to judge. ("ヤンデレ" pushes it way over 1.000.000 Googits)

A contraction of 病んでいる and デレデレ.

Headword 1二極分化
Reading 1にきょくぶんか
Part-of-speechn
Part-of-speechvs
English 1polarisation
ReferenceJapanese IME Anthy confirms the reading.
ALC says "bipolar(考え方などが)"
CommentALC's translation seems literally correct, but to me carries a very strong connotation of a mental illness.

Seen in usage in an article in Asahi Shinbun, which noted that junior and middle school students are split into two (polar opposite) groups when it comes to how much time they spend on physical education and training each week. This kind of usage seems the most common, along with "the polarisation of the debate" (議論の二極分化)

Current Entry流感の予防注射 [りゅうかんのよぼうちゅうしゃ] /flue shot/shot for flu immunization/WI1/
Headword 1流感の予防注射
Reading 1りゅうかんのよぼうちゅうしゃ
Part-of-speechn
English 1flu shot
English 2shot for flu immunization
English 3WI1
CommentHappy New Year!
I think there's a typo in this (WIP) entry, ("flue" S/B "flu", corrected above). Also, perhaps the terms "influenza" (less colloquial) and "vaccination" (related term) should also be included.

> Identical problem in JMdict (WIP) entry for 流感の予防接種

> Note: While a common term (at least in Am. English) "flu shot" returns no (appropriate) results in EDICT search.

> Sorry, last gripe--not sure where to send! Seems to be a Firefox (3.0.5) problem, but it's tricky to select an entry (or part thereof) to copy. Usually drops selection--seems to reselect the radio button instead, (perhaps consequence of intended behavior). Suggest alternative such as "copy" button, or maybe simply auto-populate search box when radio clicked?

Excelsior! :) (FWIW!)
