Headword 1Ë̶ËÀþ
Reading 1¤Û¤Ã¤¤ç¤¯¤»¤ó
Part-of-speechn
English 1Arctic Circle (latitude)
Referencehttp://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ë̶˷÷
CommentI'd really love to adjust the definition of Ë̶˷÷ to be just "Arctic" and ËÌ¶Ë "north pole" and "(abbr) Arctic", but I guess that's too much for now. Ë̶˷÷¢ªArctic Circle is way too entrenched at this point.

(What I'm saying is that strictly speaking Ë̶˷÷ should refer to the area north of Arctic Circle, namely the Arctic, rather than the Arctic Circle (which is just a circle along the 66th latitude). But the greater community does not make that distinction, so I refrain from changing that entry.)

Commenti ran across this word in a book i'm reading, and it's not in the dictionary here (the all-dictionary search turns up two questionable entries). as far as i can gather from context, it means something like "severity". google translator translates ¤Ò¤É¤µ as "severity" but ¹ó¤µ as "the rough". i can't read enough japanese yet to make much sense of the other examples i found on the web. i'm hoping you know the word and can verify the english meaning.
