New Entries/Amendments for 2009-06-27

These are the submissions received via the WWW forms for this day. I (Jim Breen) will annotate the submission if I think it needs to be amended or rejected or if I have a question about it. Otherwise it can be assumed that it has been accepted. You can see how it will look in EDICT by looking at the "diffs" file for this day or the next in the diffs directory.
Annotations completed: 29 June.

CommentI am not sure about how best to submit this entry, namely: because, as one entry, it will become rather long when dealing with cross-referencing, etc., and you may have better preferences than me.

In essence, I was searching for "蕩れる(とれる)". Your site includes it as a suffix in the following entry:-

見惚れる(P); 見とれる; 見蕩れる; 見ほれる 【みとれる(P); みほれる(見惚れる)】 (v1,vi) to be fascinated (by); to watch something in fascination; to be charmed; (P)

Your site also includes the reading as a prefix [but without the kanji] in the following entries:-

とろけるような笑み 【とろけるようなえみ】 tantalizing smile; WI3
とろけるようなおいしさで meltingly delicious; WI1

In addition to the main entry above, your site also includes the other readings in the following entries:-

蕩る 【とろける】 (?) ???; RH
蕩かす 【とろかす】 (?) ???; RH
蕩す 【とろかす】 (?) ???; RH

With this range of entries, and seeking to be more comprehensive in one entry, I thought that it was better to approach the submission in stages, after seeking your comments, following on from this first submission; or even best to leave it for consolidation by one of your experts. It is not so much a matter of new readings or meanings, rather a matter of procedure in formatting the entries.

Editorial Comment I'm basically ignoring this. You are attempting to add two quite different verbs to the とろける entry, which is contrary to the rules of what can be combined. Apart from "Nelson, etc." no case is made. If you think 蕩かす/蕩す/とろかす and 蕩れる/とれる should be verbs, well submit entries for them, but they simply cannot be mixed up with とろける.

CommentSeems to be a fairly common Japanglish wasei-eigo term for spray on deodorant, used by several brands and even the generic 99yen shop deodorant I am currently holding in my left hand.

Referencekoj, daijr, daijs, meikyo, prog
Commentor just a single sense as 'to melt' would do it. all of the above refs have two senses though

IMO, the 蕩れる[とれる] in みとれる is either a shortened form of 蕩ける[とろける] or more likely a borrowed kanji used in place of 取れる[とれる], etc. for effect. i don't think it needs its own entry
