Comment | With reference to your comment on my previous submission, namely: "Did you actually search for "メンタリテイー"?".
The answer is, "yes." I think that is why the message came up as, "Partial match - original key: メンタリテイー. [G][S][A] Propose a new entry for メンタリテイー". However, when I tried again today, the search was found all right. However, the result of the search was not the same as the original result, namely,: "メンタリティー (n) mentality; (P) [G][GI][S][A]". This time, I got the result "メンタリティー(P); メンタリテイー(ik) (n) mentality; (P) ", i.e., as the headword above; which, of course, is fine. I can see that the inclusion of both "イ" and "ィ" in the entry deals with the problem. The text which I read had "メンタリテイー" and, naturally that is what I searched for. I hope that is helpful. |

・(食事を)端から平らげる eat each and every course ・(問題を)端から解く answer every last question These are semantically related to 端から端まで, as far as I can tell. ・ごぼうを刻んだ端から水にさらす immediately soak in water all sliced up pieces of burdock ・聞いた端から忘れる forget sth 「the moment [as soon as] one hears it. I completely forgot about this usage, perhaps an entry like "端から [はしから] (preceded by v-ta) from the moment; immediately after" is in order. Regardless, 端から [はなから] and 端から [はしから] should be separate entries. And 端から [はなから] should be marked (uk), but I can give you an example of it being used with kanji: http://komachi.yomiuri.co.jp/t/2009/0611/245020.htm?o=0&p=4 "端から「勉強なんかしなくても受かっちゃったよ〜ん」って人の自慢話は参考にならないと思います(笑)" |
