Where does the novice discover whether or not to say "まえ" or "ぜん" at the end, when faced with this expression? Based upon deduction and dictionaries, I would perhaps go for "ぜん" in this case, but based upon custom and usage, it seems that your RH is correct. A Japanese person has no problem so why, I wonder, is the novice facing the uncertainty. The meaning is clear enough, indeed, your [A] search makes it clear, but it gives no help on the reading. If you and your experts can confirm the RH reading, please promote my submission and create certainty for the novice. If there is no certainty in your camp, then I don't know what to think about this language! |
