This is especially so when there are not some added clues, like cross-referencing to other meanings and readings.
I wonder if one of your experts could upgrade this entry because I don't want to add to your workload by modifying the entry to reflect "a resolution", "a decision", etc., only to discover that in Japan the headword is never used for anything other than "a failure". As for the purpose of my search, because of the basic meaning of this kanji, I was actually looking to find its correct meaning in the context of being used as a suffix, e.g., "縦断" and "横断" [running the length of ... and traversing the width]. |
