I'm also getting the impression 特定省電力無線機 is some sort of specialization of 無線機. On that Amazon query there are some 特定省電力トランシーバー entries. Maybe someone should try to make sense of this search "http://www.google.com/search?q=劫糸∞罘+site:ja.wikipedia.org". It's far beyond my level. |

English 1 | scan |
Reference | 「CT検査の人体への影響」from http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/コンピュータ断層撮影
http://nuclearmedicine.stanford.edu/patient_care/ A PET scan examines your body's chemistry. Most common medical tests, like CT and MR scans, only show details about the structure of your body. A PET scan is the most accurate, non-invasive way to tell whether or not a tumor is benign or malignant. |
Comment | In the medical world, 検査 by itself does mean examination, inspection, etc.
However, when linked with words such as PET検査、MRI検査、CT検査、the word changes meaning. Translating these words too literally would yield, "PET examination" but this is not entirely accurate. As seen in the examples above, in the process of taking a PET scan, an "examination" of the body is taking place. Yet the most commonly used phrase when describing this process in English is "PET scan". (or "MRI scan", "CT scan.") |
