Google "元ネタ" gives lots of hits. |
Comment | This is tricky. I translated (in the middle of an extremely technical math paper)
これは[A2] と非常によく似た状況である. というより, [A2] の元ネタが[K1] のように感じる. This is close to the situation considered in Ambro \cite{A2}; or rather, Ambro \cite{A2} appears as a kind of parody of Kawamata's result \cite{K1}. The original author told me to change "parody" to "imitation" (meaning that A is imitating K). I want to use "mimicking", since this is the respectable math word for copying someone else's argument. In any case, I don't think that "topping of nigiri-sushi" is especially appropriate here. M |

Kenkyusha's "EV" dictionary says: "the 「source [inspiration] 《for…》; the origin(al) 《of…》."
and quote the example: "黒澤の映画 『隠し砦の三悪人』 に登場する農民コンビが 『スターウォーズ』 のロボットコンビの元ネタであるのは有名な話だ. It is well known that the two farmers who appear in Kurosawa's movie “The Hidden Fortress” inspired the two robots in “Star Wars.” It's a less negative definition. |

Comment | This is one of the Taiwanese place names that come up often enough in the context of Japanese documents and websites, not only since it is a tourist destination (it is famous for its mineral spring) but also since it is one of the only two places in Taiwan that have a sister city in Japan. |
