Comment | I am not sure what has happened here.
I clicked on the following entry:- 掘立て 【ほったて】 (?) ???; RH [G][GI][S][A] This submission page came up. What I wanted to submit for " 掘立て 【ほったて】 (?) ???; RH [G][GI][S][A] " was the following. kenkyusha has the entry as:- a hut, a hovel, a shanty, a shack. Google images, as you have said before, tell the story. The relationship of the kanji seems to be digging a hole and putting in a pillar and erecting something. The kanji "柱" is often nearby in the text. |

Editorial Comment | Don't know either. 掘抜き井戸 is already an entry. I put in an entry for 掘っ立て;掘っ建て;掘立て;掘建て. |

Comment | My proposal is to strike this entry. This looks like an incomplete entry. The
complete entry for "memorial" as activity/event would be along the lines of 戦 没者追悼式, and 追悼碑 or 追悼塔 for "memorial" as visible thing. Please see my related new entries following this entry. Note: 追悼 by itself is used with する to describe an activity or in compound expressions, such as 追悼会, 追悼式, 追悼演説, 追悼施設, and so on. So , although it is classified as "n" in English one might think of 追悼 as adjectival in function (i.e., modifying the noun that - in this case - invariably follows it) |

Editorial Comment | Re 追悼, it's labelled "adj-no". Eijiro (ALC) has 戦没者追悼の礼拝式, and I can see quite a few cases of 戦没者追悼 standing alone or acting pre-nominally, e.g. http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E9%9D%96%E5%9B%BD%E7%A5%9E%E7%A4%BE-%E3%81%9B%E3%82%81%E3%81%8E%E3%81%82%E3%81%86-%E6%88%A6%E6%B2%A1%E8%80%85%E8%BF%BD%E6%82%BC-%E3%81%AE%E3%82%86%E3%81%8F%E3%81%88-%E8%B5%A4%E6%BE%A4/dp/4000023225 |
