These are the submissions received via the WWW forms for this day. I (Jim Breen) will annotate the submission if I think it needs to be amended or rejected or if I have a question about it. Otherwise it can be assumed that it has been accepted. You can see how it will look in EDICT by looking at the "diffs" file for this day or the next in the diffs directory.

Headword 1高火度
Reading 1こうかど
Part-of-speechexp
English 1high fired (e.g., 1400 degrees)
English 2high fired (porcelain)
ReferenceSee below.
CommentContext supports the above headword. Google throws up some 75k hits. However, the reading is not confirmed.

The meaning is also supported by your [A] link from the following:-

高火度磁器 【?】 high-fired porcelain; WI4

However, again the reading is not confirmed.

Perhaps you would consider inclusion; and if one of your experts can confirm the reading so much the better.

The above "W14" could also be promoted with a reading of "こうかどじき". Again, that reading would seems to be the right one.

Editorial Comment Seems OK. Reading can be confirmed by Googling for ["高火度" "こうかど"]. Please omit the comma after "e.g.". See: http://www.edrdg.org/wiki/index.php/Editorial_policy I added an entry for 高火度磁器.

CommentRoy Miller (41) gives the meaning of the above as "kaolin".

One of your experts may support Roy Miller.

"Magnetite" is shown as "磁鉄鉱" in my references.

Editorial Comment A mistake on my part. The original submission said "kaolin" and I doubted it. I see now on checking further that it is kaolin, but sometimes also an abbreviation for 磁鉄鉱 (which some [dyslexic?] people write as 磁鉱鉄.)

Current Entry最近 [さいきん] /(adj-no,n-adv,n-t) latest/most recent/nowadays/(P)/ (1293780)
Headword 1最近
Reading 1さいきん
Part-of-speechadj-no,n-adv,n-t
English 1recently
English 2most recent
English 3nowadays
CommentI would to propose to replace "latest" by "recently" in the
translation field, because "latest" corresponds more to 最新
so it is confusing

Editorial Comment I have reworked it. I didn't make "recently" the first, as 最近 is (most) commonly 最近の...
