Commentadd 'yomi'. Although analogies can be drawn between Yomi and Hades, strictly speaking they are products of two different mythologies. I think 'hades' can stay in there though, because it's not a bad contextual translation.

Editorial Comment I've never heard "yomi" as a word in English; only in Japanese. I think an xref to 黄泉・よみ is more appropriate that adding it as a"meaning".

Current Entry洛中洛外図 [らくちゅうらくがいず] /(?) ???/RH/
Headword 1洛中洛外図
Reading 1らくちゅうらくがいず
Part-of-speechexp
English 1views in and around the city of Kyoto (paintings and drawings)
ReferenceSee below.
CommentSome 56k Google hits. No doubt because of the location. Either this could be promoted or the particular entry for "図" could be expanded to give the meaning on wider usage.

Roy Miller (42(10)) states that "図"is a common addition to the title of paintings and drawings, but [also] that it is best ignored in a translation. The concept of "a view of, or views of, ...." is his main point.

It is my own view that with the promotion of such an entry, the novice will soon get the idea for general usage, especially when the entry will be seen near the entry for the following:-

洛中洛外 【らくちゅうらくがい】 (n) in and around the city of Kyoto
Suddenly the expression makes sense, with or without the Roy Miller explanation. Plus, the added advantage of the reading for "図".

CommentNot an amendment, just a comment/question: Is there perhaps something wrong with the way the submission form is processsed? I had a lot more text in the Reference field than what is shown in the submission page, but only the first line is shown. Same goes for the submission I did for kurefutagaru.

Editorial Comment I see an odd broken kanji at the end of the 天の時は地の利に如かず submission. The text coming in from the form is copied straight to a file and appended to another. It's also echoed back to the screen - was anything missing then? There could have been some characters which upset the HTTP dialogue between apache and your browser.
