| Comment | I am riding this submission on the above entry because I am not quite sure whether or not you would prefer a new entry.
The submission which I would like to make is as follows:- 内なる (うちなる). This has its own headword in some dictionaries, e.g., 小学館. It picks up over 650k Google hits. Its adjectival meaning of "inner" is well reflected in the many "WI4" entries on your site and also in your [A] link. The simple meaning of "内なる" cannot be picked up readily from the main "headword" entry above. It seems to me that the novice searcher should not be left to travel the route which invites a submission of a new entry or a search of all dictionaries; thus, giving the impression that "内なる" is not worthy of inclusion in the main dictionary. Moreover, if the novice finally arrives at all the potentially valuable "WI4" entries, he or she would discover that there are very few, if any, readings included. I, for one, would be pleased if you would include the headword of "内なる," together with a simple translation as "inner (self, voice, man, etc.)" and "internal (conflict, tension, competition, etc.)," in your main dictionary. |
