| Comment | All of these fishes look alike and are characterized by the fact that their ventral fins are combined to form a kind of sucker that helps them stay put at the bottom of river. The expression gorioshi comes from trying to forcefully remove a gori from the rock or whatever surface it has decided to latch onto.
