After nearly 30 years of operation the Monash ftp server has closed down. This closure is due to perceived security problems with anonymous ftp services.
The edrdg.org ftp server will continue to operate. The server's addreses are:
I originally set the archive up so that users in Australia didn't have to hunt overseas for files. As it has turned out, it became one of the major ftp sites dealing with Japanese matters, and about 85% of accesses were from outside Australia. Ftp is now part of the history of the Internet and its predecessor networks.
