Suzuki Harunobu

Suzuki Harunobu (1725-1770) is one of the most influential ukiyo-e artists. His pictures of graceful dream-like beauties were immensely popular in the Meiwa era, and his style set the fashion for decades to come. He is also acknowledged as the originator of the "Nishiki-e" brocade pictures.

This print is of Mikiwayama of the Iseya teahouse, and dates from the late 1760s.

The second is the 1770 print "Girl with a sake cup".
